Ok I'm building a custom dash for my buddies zuke and I've got a few questions on location of the sending unit for the water temp and what size the thread is. I was looking in the Autometer catalog for the adapters, I've gotten the one for the oil pressure sending unit (was in the catalog) but they did not list one for the water temp. I'm hoping that there is a plug in the head/block that I can use to put the sending unit. The engine is the 1.3.
For the guys running aftermarket gauges in your zukes, where are you putting this sending unit?
I'm hoping that I'm not going to have to do what I did on my honda and put the sending unit in one of the rubber coolant hoses

This is what I ended up doing on my 1.6

It seems to work good so far

i have the electrical auto meter water temp gauge. i just drilled and tapped a 1/8th'' npt hole in the intake manifold near the factory sending unit. if you have the auto meter mechanical gauge the threads may be bigger, im not sure.

It that where the stock sending unit would be? Do the samis have 2 temp sensors? one for hte gauge and one for hte ECU? or do they share the saem one? I don't want to take the stock one out if it's shared with the ECU. That or get some sort of funky t-fitting going.
