As you can see in link

I flopped again last friday.
A bit more damage this time.
A, B and probably C-posts need straightening.
What do you think, should I do it with the roof attached och loosen the roof and bend the posts and then try to get the roof to fit?

If you browse through the rest of the pics you will see a black two door RRC and it only took 3 hours of not too hard work to get it to this stage. He will need to get a proper cage bent up. He tried with water pipes and a HF-style bender, even after i told him it will not work :shaking: .

So roof on or off for straightening? Any experience?

Three people inside when it happened, all belted and not a scratch. Thank god for that!

That's crossed my mind! If it had not been for DD-duty and Swedish fall-winter-spring that's probably what would happen.

What about your white 740. Isn't it running yet?

Those tires have their time and place. You don't need to care whether you're driviing on asphalt or wet black ice, same grip.

Tobias, care to use my new monster sawsall?

Chop chop chop

Even if I do chop I still need to straighten the A-post, because I want a windscreen.

With or without roof when straightening?

Hey, are those Fristads? Quite the pilar of fashon!

Get a tube of silicon caulk , put that windshield back in, and your good to go!

Jeff: No, usually I wear only Fristads, but for the occasion I had dug out my Lundhags hiking pants from the deep hiking closet.

I think straighten it with the roof on, that way everything should stay lined up better (won't have much of a reference without roof). It would be really annoying if you think you have straightened it, only to find out the roof bolts don't line up.

Main priority is to get windscreen fram straight enough to get a new screen in.

Hopefully I can get the doors to close without too much gaps, windnoise is bad but leaking doors are worse...

I have little hope of getting the roof in such a good shape that I can reuse the existing roof without opening up the holes for the roof bolts.

I have spare roofs (without elec sunroof :p ) so if I need a new roof to make everything fit - almost - it's good enough.
Even as a DD it's already beyond trying to look good. As long as it is safe (yeah, right! With me at the wheel  ) and reasonably water tight it's good.
