went to try to drive the truck for the first time since replacing everything, and I got nothin...felt like it was sitting in park. tcase (205) was not in nuetral and there is fluid. i tried switching the gears by hand from underneath, but not while it was running ( no e break and no one else there to hold the brakes) i was thinking about either taking the shafts off or jacking up the rear end and trying it in 2 wheel drive, while its running...but any ideas as to what is going on? torque converter is spinning (maybe I didn't get it engaged right???)

thanks

Well if you didn't get it engaged, then you damaged the converter, pump, and possibly more......

First, check to see if the trans is pumping fluid. You can thread a guage into the line pressure port on the side of the trans and see what the pressure is.

If you don't have a guage, you could try disconnecting a cooler line at the cooler, and have some one fire up the engine for a second, if you see fluid pumping out, then you will need to get a guage and check the pressure. If nothing comes out, then you have either damaged something or missassembled something.

If you have pressure and flow, but no movement, pull the pan and check to make sure your manual valve is hooked up to the linkage. Other than that, it starts looking like you are pulling the trans back out...

By the way, what does it mean that you finally got it back together??? Just rebuilt it?? Shift kit?? Just a filter change??

this is kinda sad. this board is all about sharing information for the better of the "comunity". if you're not willing to share, then don't post questions like this and/or at least get a red star.
the old saying goes "learn from your mistakes". i'd rather learn from other's mistakes but if people aren't willing to share their information, that won't be possible.
no need to be embarassed if it was a simple mistake, just post up. :)
