I have a friend with a wood bed trailer, after two years half the boards have started to warp and pull up:mad:

I said wood.
Easier to maintain
Easier to replace
Not slick when wet
Easy of quickly lag/bolt in anchor points anywhere were as steel you need to find a place that is supported.

thats great that you can get them at the same price. i said the steel just because you wont have to screw with it every couple years. just keep it from rusting up north, here in texas it runs about 350 more for a steel deck.

wood works, but mine went up in flames, total loss hauin hay, the steel is junk too (got hotter than a bastard) I think the metal would have ended up the same way, all I can say is just say no to mobil home axles, if u can find a way around them, nothin but trouble, esp the 14.5 rims, they are:rainbow: I would go for the steel, if u got the $$$$
