Have any of you heard anything about these T-Max winches being sold in the vendor section? Great price, but can't find much info on them.

I have one (EW9500), seems pretty decently built. I haven't installed or used it yet, so no real world experience. Their US distributorship is located here in Elkhart. I've talked to the guys, they seem pretty cool, and willing to back up their product. Spaceghost has one on his competition buggy (at least before the most recent round of mods) and I believe he's been happy with it. I saw it used on a Hoosier Cruisers wheeling run to pull 5 or 6 trucks up a steep hill, seemed to work quite well. That's why I bought one, after seeing his used pretty hard. Not trying to steer you away but they came to our club as sponsors a couple years ago. Gave us a free winch and a deal for all paying members on the 9500. Several of our members bought the 9500 and have been using them (moderately, not overly extreme) for the last year or two without too many problems.

We even went on spring break to Windrock and wheeled a week straight where 3/4 jeeps (all except mine) had the 9500. Used them quite a bit on a daily basis with no problems.

At this point, however, a lot has changed with T-Max. As far as I know, our relationship with them is over and our old contacts have been fired. They fired some people and I think things are changing. I can't tell you specifics about what's good or bad at this point because I don't have facts or concrete examples readily available and I hate saying I have a friend of a friend who had this or that happen to them. So I won't say anything about some of the issues we're having with the newer products. I will say, however, look around and read before you buy and be weary of the 9k (and possibly others). Come to our forum and search about it if you like. I'm a mod/officer there so let me know if you have problems accessing info.
