I'm in the process of building my CJ up w/ 1 tons and building the 304. I'm lost on what tires to choose though. This rig will see mostly rock crawling w/ a few trips to the mud holes. I was thinking a set of 38.5" Claws w/ Beadlocks. Or should I get something in the 37" flavor such as Krawlers or XTs. How about a set of 38.5 TSLs

so the claws are not a good choice for rocks? Just wondeing cause I get them @ a small discount. It doesn't matter what I get I just want what will do the best

it shows that you're in Indiana, so that probably means you're wheelin in the midwest and most likely the badlands.

if so, I wouldn't worry about the SXs. they are a great tire, but it's not necessary to pay the extra when you can just get the bias TSL. our rocks are not half as sharp as out west.

I would say TSLs or Iroks

All depends on how you use your truck.

The right tires for me arent necessarally the right tires for you.

my goodyear mtr's are the right tire for me.

IROKs are my favorite. Thats what I run now and I love them. Great on the rocks and good all around.

Currently running 35" MTR's on my Yota. I'm leaning toward 36" IROKs for my next set. Are you running Radials or Bias? and how are they on the street? In the past Interco tires have been a bitch to get balanced.

I'm running bias and beadlocks so I guess I'm not so worried about balancing. However, they seem to run fine on the road on the rare occurance that I'm there.

I'm running the 39.5's and am going to switch to 42's in the near future. The tires stick like glue. I love them.

IROK's get my vote, but like the looks of the pitbull rockers, and the maxxis creepy crawlers...

oh hell...you decide :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I have to agree on the MTR's. I run 35's on my rig and we have those sharp western rocks here in Utah that were mentioned in an earlier post. I have run them with no problems. Alot of the U.R.O.C. guys are running the MTR's as well in compitition so there must be something to them. I am not putting down the Swampers mind you ( most of the guys in our group are running the TSL or the SX with one set of SSR's) I just like the Goodyears.

well its come down to the claws or TSLs. I can get them both for the same price. Going to be running beadlocks with them. Now when it comes to midwest rock crawling we get that slippery shit and the stuff that is covered in mud for days on end. Now on my show truck/mud truck I have 44" TSLs that do wonders in the mud. But I haven't tried them in the rocks so I have no idea how they are. I have had Pro Comp XTs, Boggers, MTs, and MT/Rs. Best out of them all were the XTs imho. But I wana try something different.

Claws or TSLs?
