Dear god thats gonna be slow. 106:1 with an automatic is nuts. But still cool. :D
Its actually an easy install to do you shouldnt have to much trouble with it.

I think it's going to be geared lower than that when you figure in torque multification of torque converter

2 x 3.06 x 2.28 x 2.28 x 6.72 = 213

All weekend???? I disassembled are re-assembled TWO cases in less that 6 hrs and put 'em back into the rig. You're slow... but not as slow as you're gonna be on the trail now. :flipoff2: (I catch a lot o' sh!t on the trail when I crawl, too: 223:1) Get 'r done.

I know I will probably look stupid for asking, but where do you get the "2" from?

2: ?
3.06:tranny?
2.28 x 2: dual cases
6.72: axle

I had never taken a toy case appart. Did mine in an afternoon taking my time.

Just be shure to have a good external snapring plier and a large bearing splitter/puller.

I did have to take my back appart because the shift rail of my 85 rear case interffered with the doubler. There is a not about it way at the end of the instructions, so pay attention to that. The shift rail is some very hard stuff, used a 3" air cutoff and zipped it right off though.

that's pretty good.......my problem is the transfercase crossmember.... I built my front lower links into the crossmember and I think with dual cases the front driveshaft will have clearance issues......so modding the crossmember will take a little longer

2 = torque converter

how do you figgure that the torque converter will multiply by a factor of 2?
torqure coverter is just a fluid coupling. Untill it reaches its stall speed its just like a slipping clutch. And also it never is truely flully locked unless you have a lockup converter. when that happens its 1:1

they do in fact multiply torque.
they do so because of the way the fluid flows inside them.
mind you they only multiply at lower output speeds, and it does decrease as you get closer to lockup.

you may get that ''effect'' below the stall speed. but i still dont think your actually getting multiplication. especially by a factor of 2
