So a scout Im trying to get ready for wheeling this weekend has a problem. The front drums seized up and got real hot. We took the drums off and noticed a few things we think went wrong. The pads all have cracks in them, running log ways, so obviously they need to be replaced. My question is about the wheel cylinder. There are what look like two pistons comming out either side of the housing, which push the pads apart. The pistons are at about 45 degrees from the housing... are they supposed to go straight out? They work, when you step on the brakes the separate fine, but the pads dont seem to "seat" themelves flush again, which is what I think is causing the binding. Here is a quick sketch of the cylinders...

It almost looks like the piston shoulb be solid all the way through and got broke in half inside the housing.... but it seems to work fine as far as pushing the pads out? I know this is confusing, but thanks for any input. Also, there is no leakage of brake fluid anywhere.
