Well, I preach the ways of the Pneumatic Body Saw, but I'm just weird like that. Use the jigsaw, see how you like it. Just take a little off, and see how it does. If it's working crappy, go get a body saw.

A jigsaw is gonna be easier to control than a sawzall...

I like a sawzall because you can just go at it with anger. But a sawzall is pretty rough, but if you got the jigsaw go with that, its not a big deal.

A jigsaw will work fine, just use a fine tooth blade and take your time, you'll have alot more controll with the jigsaw. I choped all my fender wells with one no problems, use some oil while cutting and the blade will last a LOT longer...

90% of the time i use the sawsall its ha heck of alot faster.
5% of the time i use a jigsaw cuz somtimes you need the controll to make the little cuts.
5% of the time i use cut off wheels cuz the sawsall just isnt loud enough.......:D

I used a jigsaw...it was cheaper than a sawzall and a cutting torch and came out prettier:flipoff2:

Dude,
The sawsall has my vote...I burned up a jigsaw cutting body away and you can also use the sawsall to cut tubing , frame and whatever else gets in the way!

If you have a jigsaw use that. If you are going to buy somethng get a sawzall. You can use it for almost anything. Mine is part of most mods i do the latest being TJ flares. It cut real nice with a fine blade.

A sawzall goes right up there with a BFH on the list of needed tools.

I used my sawzall on some of my fenders. Problem is, if it's rusty, or not well supported, the sawzall just shakes the heck out of the fender, but doesn't cut.

You have to get the "guard" right against the metal to make it work well, and then the blade is often too long and starts hitting spots you didn't want to cut (got a fuel line nearby?)

I did the majority of my fender trimming with a pair of aviation snips.

Turned out pretty well.

On my second fender my air-nibbler from HF showed up.. quicker, and a little cleaner.. but the snips still worked well and I used them in a few spots.

I have blades for the jigsaw, but haven't used them.

My vote is for a cut off wheel, and a flap disc to clean it up. I did my fenders in like, say, 4 minutes. That's WITH a wheel change. :) With the flap disk, you can put a radius on the cut, meaning it won't dig NEARLY as far into your tires when you don't cut enough the first time.

Then again, I can wield the 4.5 Millee-wah-kay with almost surgical precision.... which probably explains the gash on my left hand after Saturday´s gloveless cutting. :P
