It's possible, but you need to be concerned with the flow rate as well. I know for a SBC TBI install the intank fuel pump from a 2.5L TBI YJ will work perfectly. Call your local parts store and ask for the details of the pumps for both vehicles and years so you can compare yourself. I used Autozone. FYI, an 89 YJ w/2.5L TBI motor has a fuel pump that will deliver 14-15PSI @ 40 GPH. An 87 350TBI SBC requires 9-13PSI @ 30 GPH. So I'm all set.

Let us know what you find out...

A stock fuel injected 5.0 requires 75 litres per hour at 35 - 40 PSI. I don't know what volume a stock 4.0 pump pushes, but it sure looks beefier than the 190L/hr pump I put in my Mustang.

Dude,
Try the stock pump first...it doesn't cost anything. I have a 5.0 HO in my Jeep and run a Mallpory external 5110FI pump, they're kind of spendy but you can order it from Summit Racing.
