The best torque converter for crawling

ok, putting the doubler in my Trailduster within the month. I need to replace the torque converter as well. I want to upgrade from the stock one, but am not sure what to get. I would assume that I want a RV torque converter with a lower stall speed than stock, but wanted to see what everyone else was running. I Have looked at one from TCI, but don't know where esle to look

Any suggestions?

I am running a pretty much stock 360, 727, 203, 205 with 5.13's and 38.5's if that helps.

you are correct in thinking that you wnat a lower stall converter the r.v. will probaly suit your needs or get in contact with a torque converter rebuilder and see what kind of custom stall that they can build for you. the company that i use in my transmission rebuild shop i specrite you can reach them at www.specriteconverters.com rod or mike should be able to answer any questions that you have and they have very competitive priceing. hope that helps

the lower the stall speed the better,but the lower it is the worse it is on the street

I'd keep the stock one.
You won't be able to stop in the lower gears if you change it much. Or so I've read.

Not true.
You will be able to stop fine. I went with the low stall when i did my trany rebuild last August and it made a huge difference. I don't regret it at all.

im runnin a TCI, high torque/towing converter. id recomend it to everyone.

I picked up an old NOS Hurst towmaster/RV. It is awesome and it has all the nice benefits that a TCI has like: 1)torrington bearings throughout 2) furnace brazed stator and fins and 3) fully ballanced. I paid $50 plus shipping, they were left over from an old speed shop.
