I picked up a used detroit for my d60 front I'm thinking of replacing the powerlok. I know most LSD's wear out but I have never read about a wore detroit, only that they either work or they don't. My question is:
Are detroit lockers meant to be rebuilt, if so does anybody know where to buy the rebuild kits?
Any help or input on the detroit locker is much appreciated. Rock on!

its a full locker, unless the internals are all metal shavings, and it doesnt lock, run it.
I'll give you 20$ for that old worthless wore out powerlock.

I appreciate the offers. If I end up putting the detroit locker in the front then the powerlok is going into the d60 in my GTX.

I got a detroit with the internal parts destroyed. I am looking to rebuild it too. Where can I get these parts?

I have heard of people rebuilding their detroit lockers but I can't find any articles or even parts vendors. Paging the 4x4 community............ANYBODY KNOW WHERE OR WHO TO BUY DETROIT LOCKER PARTS FROM?

I would think the wisest course of action would be to contact the manufacturer directly. http://www.tractech.com/
I doubt any aftermarket company would make parts for them. I have not heard of them being rebuilt, only replaced though.

I emailed tractech and they were really helpfull. John with the tech team, emailed me a blow-up of the detroit locker and a spec sheet. He told me that DTS (Drive Train Specialists) can get any parts a person needs to rebuild a detroit locker.

I just had the same thing happen to me. A guy from tractech called and emailed me a blow up of my locker, and a parts list with a number of a place I can call to order parts. It still pisses me off that we have to pay so much for a Detroit and the thing ever breaks though.
