What are some good carbs that you guys run on your 392/345 with the "quadra jet" pattern? Truck Avenger? Edelbrocks?

Well...... ummm, a Quadra-jet can be made to perform very well offroad, but I personally use EFI.

I was just operating at a very severe angle this weekend Idling away...the dudes that were spotting/watching me on the obstical could not believe that I was carb'ed...
It is a quadra-jet with an external fuel pressure regulator, and I believe a tweeked float...
Come to think of it the carb did not sputter once...and I flogged it hard a couple of times :D

Your right...almost...
That engine is in the old trail scout that is now in Whidbey Island WA.
But my purty one took me all the way around the Island of Sicily 600 miles this weekend. To the beaches....the beaches in Sicily....not like the beaches in the US.... :D
Now driving it thru the little ass streets is a different story!!!
But the looks on their faces is worth the risk!
This is in my practice pit in the lot next to my house!! :D

Bill, you'd better check the rules on posting pics, something about nipples  It doesn't bother me, but I wouldn't want to get in any trouble. Looks like your beach trip had better views then mine!

i run a Q-Jet on my 460 with a square bore intake. all it takes is a $20.oo adapter from checker. Q-jets rock off road.
Holly offroad = pissed off and frustrated.
Q-Jet offroad= fun wheeling and good times.

Edit sucks... I missed nipples? My whole day is now a total waste...
If you can't do EFI, quadrajunk is probably the best.

I run a holley 600cfm. It runs GREAT on the trails. Just add spring-loaded needle & seats, vent baffles ,and a tube to connect the 2 vents. I made my own vent tube just like the one on the truck avenger carb.

A Holly can be easily made to work great off road. I've posted several times on how to do it so I'm not wasting my time to do it again.
