After checking brands, prices, etc., decided to go with a Warn X8000i. $689 including shipping from Clemson 4wheel Center. I have to be careful with my money, so I felt like this is a good compromise for me. 4wd Hardware has the same winch for $799 :eek:.. I couldn't find it cheaper, so I went for it :bounce:

Oh man, have I got some bad news for you...

No but the thermal regulator on the secondary power loop has had some problems with the negative grounding wire know to cause the top case to melt. Wear safety goggles when plugging in the remote if the vehicle is running. That model has been know to throw some nasty sparks when plugged in. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I did see it. What I saw was a xd9000i winch for $755 that Clemson had for $769.95 including the shipping. I am guilty of not calling to see if the Shaffer price included shipping...

It has the roller....The mount I'll probably pick up from 4wd Hardware... I'm just trying to actually get something together by May for this East Coast thing, and hopefully a Big Dog's run :)

Neither. There are some people trying to get a competition going in Uniontown PA in May. I'm not sure what's going on with it, right now... Guess they're going to try to work out the details.
