Thought this topic fits here best.
I tow my Scrambler with either my 32' motorhome or my 3/4 ton Suburban.
I live in Illinois and wheel in Colorado, Utah, South Dakota, and Arkansas a lot. In other words, I have to drive at least a thousand miles to get to most of the trails I like to run.
This got me thinking about the possibility of a highway breakdown. I rarely caravan with others and I am usually alone, meeting up with friends at the trails. I carry a ton of parts, tools and fluids for all the vehicles but there is always the chance of something major letting go (like the trans in the MH).
So the question(s) is this, who do you call when your in the middle of nowwhere Nebraska (or wherever) and something major pukes? How do you get the best possible deal (realizing your at the mercy of the locals)? Alternate tow rigs? How have you seen this handled?
With the MH it becomes specialized towing, not to mention that it takes a heavy truck shop to work on the thing. Don't have AAA or anything like that.
