: Tellico pics
Jtisdale 05-31-2005, 06:50 PM All I can say is go to Tellico during the week, we ran into only one other group of 4-5 rigs on the trail the whole time. Usually, on the weekends, you pull up behind 15 rigs at the bottom of a trail, walk up to see what is going on and find out that somebody broke their sector shaft in the steering box, cooked their transmission and snapped a front axle all at the same time...oh yeah no winch either. Get back to your truck to hit another trail and discover you've been "parked" in by 10 other rigs lined up.
Anyway, here are a few pics from the ledge above Peckerwood and some mudhole on 8.

Jtisdale 05-31-2005, 06:51 PM files too large...anyone want to resize or host?
JSBriggs 05-31-2005, 07:52 PM I tried to teach Pendy, but he insisted on emailing them to himself.
To resize a pic, right click on the file and select 'open with' then choose 'paint'. This will open up your pic in the basic windows drawing program.
click on the 'image' menu, then 'stretch skew'
In the stretch boxes put a number , say 25 for both horizontal & Vertical. this will resize you pic to 25% of its origional size (but the file size actually shrinks exponentially).
Then click on 'file' then 'save as' and chang the file name slightly (I usually add an 'a' at the end). This then allows you to keep you origional image and gives you a smaller one to post on the BB or email etc.

Bluewater 06-01-2005, 07:56 AM You can send them to me if you don't feel like going through paint. I can do them in Photoshop in no time and plus we can optimize for web and save some bandwidth.

LR Max 06-02-2005, 09:22 AM Wow! That hole on Trail 8 got NAS-TAY!!

more pics please. Tis how have things been. Any new mods?
Jtisdale 06-07-2005, 04:05 PM more pics please. Tis how have things been. Any new mods?
Hey man, no other pics sorry. No new mods other than getting the axles dialed in more. Matt did some work on the front and now the hydro is in a better location and the axle shaft seals are inboard instead of at the "C" eliminating the leaking problem. ARB sent me a replacement locker for the rear one that was acting up.
Probably the best mod I've done lately are the brass radiator plugs I got in Tellico, at Napa no less. If you haven't swapped your plastic piece of crap plugs do it before you have an experience like I did. On the trail I noticed that some antifreeze was leaking a bit from around the plug, so I went to snug it up and the top of the cap literally snapped off with no effort. To add insult to injury, the threaded portion of the cap is hollow so now you have no way to plug your radiator until you can remove the threaded piece(which comes out easliy when the rad cools).
I did high flow my PS pump as described in KCs post. It really helps when the RPMs are up, I can turn the wheel when bound up with rather easily now.
Any mods for you?

Buckon37s 06-07-2005, 06:57 PM Glad you are up and running. Man those axles seemed to be a real burdon for a while. Did you fix the ARB oil issue too?
I bought a sheet of 3/16" steel. I am planning on bumper/infender mods. I want to open them up a bit more. Nothing too substantial on the modifiation front. I think you know about the CTMs up front with the new axles. I have been investing in some new tools recently (mill, drill press, better welder, etc, etc.). Now I just have to find some time. I am thinking I may take a week off in August to do some serious building. Are you planning any trips to Colorado soon. I would love to make a trail run with you.

Way
Way we need to get together soon and run some trails. After all the fender mods I am about to undertake a new front and rear bumper as well. I need a better approach and departure angle.
That's the Taco from the new Peterson's! Nice truck! That EB is sweeeet too.
Jtisdale 06-08-2005, 06:16 AM Yep, Taco from Peterson's. Guess I should move my post to the Ford section since I'm driving an early bronco now?

Jtisdale 06-08-2005, 11:26 AM Coming to CO for the rallye, end of July, as usual will be out early for some pre-rallye fun. Possible interest with Yousef in doing Die Tryin' and Pendy is talking about Blanca or maybe Powerhouse if it is open.

beartj 06-08-2005, 11:39 AM I don't see any EB??

I might be up for this as well. If I can manage to take off the entire week I will be in for sure.
rock90 06-09-2005, 02:26 PM I am going to be around some of the days. Have you guys thought of running Avalanche ranch. There is a new trail called 'Judgement day' I heard it is alot of fun. The trails there are great. very easy to hard and everthing in between. bypasses on some of them. The only concern I would have is the heat. it can hot there in july.
If we make plans now, I can carve something out for late July. I do not know the exact rally dates, but I assume the last weekend in July??? I would love to do die tryin. I have been to Avalanche Ranch before and it was awesome so you can never go wrong there, but the idea of doing something brand new to me sounds a bit more appealing. Let's make sure Pendy can make it as I am sure I will break a hub on something and I would love to make him fix it ;). Thoughts??? Let's get something set up. LWG, I would love to hit some trails with you either this weekend or others. You are too close for us to not have gone wheeling together yet. Want to do Penrose??
aloharover 06-10-2005, 11:06 PM last weekend in July???

My guess is Pendy will be there. Penrose sounds good but I need to finish my front and rear bumper first. I am thinking I will tackle that trail after the Rubicon which is the week after the Rally.
