: Inexpensive vehicle transport...?

Hey everyone,

Just curious who people have used in the past to transport vehicles coast to coast or north to south. I just picked up a Series II 109" and I need to bring it down from Jersey. I usually use FreightQuote.com but I am curious what luck others have had with any different carriers.

Thanks,

What would you pay me to do it for you? Did you get John C's?

Why not post this in Gen 4x4? Is there something special about moving a Rover? :flipoff2:

Not sure D, $600-700ish?

Yes, OS, they require serious special attention! You know what they need. :)

I will tell you that shipping a vehicle that is either non-operational or that your average slack-jawed moron can't figure out how to drive will be a sincere premium over your basic Honda (don't ask me how I know).

Well, it's about 1880 miles, total, for me. At $2.25 per gallon of fuel, at 15mpg, thats 281.00 in fuel alone. Add in food and hotel stays, and I would be paying you...

Alright, what sounds good to you? On a side note, would you have insurance that would cover a vehicle in tow?

I've got a tow rig and trailer and the summer off...PM if you need a hand transporting it. Seriously I could use a vacation.

Usually, I just get in the Series and start driving and that does a pretty good job of transporting me where I need to go. Although, on some of those newer-fangdangled Rovers, they might need a little help like the 94 I just acquired from Denver. Cost me $350 from the LR dealership to STL. Just hop a plane to New Jerusalem and drive her back. It will be the best 8, 11, 15+ hours you will ever spend in a Rover. Builds character, too.

Just messing with you man. Glad to see your getting a Series into the stable.

Yeah, I got that. It kind of sucks actually because I picked up it to use as the basis for our Hybrid since it's in such great condition. Now I can see myself ending up restoring this and finding something else to use for the Hybrid. :) But nevermore, I am glad to have finally added a classic to the stable.

If you are really serious about getting it done and are willing to pay for it give me a call. I'm heading out to the east coast to pick up my trailer and I can possibly pick the truck up if the money is right. Give me a call I leave tomorrow morning. 505-514-1741
