While looking for some old pictures yesterday I thought I'd scan a few and post up some rigs that I still own/use to own, etc. If you have any of your old rigs you no longer have post them up.

I'll start with pics from my last rig which was a Terra. From mud drags to sled pulls this Terra did it all and was my daily driver for a few short years. Some will recognize this truck as its the one I rolled at RMIHR one year. After many rubicon trips I retired the truck.

This was my first Terra I bought in 96'. Started out as a 2wd 4cyl. Pic of me after a quickie SOA(still 2wd at the time). I owned this truck for less than a year. One rubicon run and one very successful day at the mud drags was all the action this truck ever received. This is the truck that nearly took my life. Three weeks after nearly killing me my girlfriend at the time totaled it(bitch!). There's also a pic of how much a Super Swamper will stretch and still hold air at 8 psi if I recall correctly.

Here are a couple of pics of my 72' 3/4 ton 4x4 pick up. I've had this truck since I was 18. Its been sitting for quite a few years. Some day I'll either resurrect it or sell it. Also a pic of a 79' Traveler I drove for awhile and a pic of my first Scout towing an 800.

Here are some pics of my first Scout that I got when I was 16. Started out as a stock baby blue with a 196. It quickly evolved. Needless to say playing "Duke's of Hazzard" with your Scout is a bad idea as seen from the carnage. I still own this Scout. Someday it will be my son's first Scout.

And here's one of my brother Mike's 59' known as the "Beast". Also one of his rolled Scout II from a few years back. The rollcage helped a lot in keeping the top from crushing all the way.

what's the story with that shackle mount? Dang, I'm going on my 3rd rig - not quite the collection you've had!

The teflon pads help keep stability to the shackles when cornering hard.

Jeff,

I have pictures of your 1976 Scout (the blue one your son will get someday) from the Prarie City mud drags. It didn't have as many stickers on it. It had a red, white, and blue Patriot Scout fender on the passenger side. There were a ton of Scouts there that muddy day (not in the pits).

I see.
They are wear pads made out of delrin or nylon sheets that help support the shackle side loads!
First time I had seen them also.

That had to be close to 15 years ago. Your memory is better than mine. Can you post any pics from that day?

Jeff,

I think you are correct as it was about 1990-1992 that a friend and I used to go. I'll dig up the pictures and see if I can get you a copy or two.

I took a lot of pictures back then. There were always a bunch of IH's there. Scout's, Scout II's and even a fullsize truck or two.

Remember the old 6 cyl powered Travelall with skinny mud tires that would whip everyone's ass. And then there was the old 60's pickup with the "INTERNATIONAL" on the back tailgate changed to "IRRATIONAL".

Two trucks that stand out were a Scout 80/800 in primer gray. 454 big block w/gold Moroso valve covers, Ground Hawgs, and Chevy Blazer Bushwacker cut out fender flares. The other was a red 1972 1110 4x4 with no bed. It had the 5 lug front with a Dodge Dana 60 8-lug in the rear.

I don't remember the Travelall? I need to reveiw my pics. It could be in there somewhere.

I'll go thru my albums and see what I can find. Those were the good-old-days. IH's everywhere. If I don't look at mine, I never see one.

Those pits were lined with concrete if I remeber right. The mud was pretty thick and there was a big dip at the end of the right pit. Ask me how I know. The mud would dry and take the paint off the frame.

Anyone else notice the 852's rear springs are inboarded under the frame? :D

I take it you didn't notice any loss of stability, and it could make the spring hangers a bit stouter, though I haven't (thus far) had problems with my rear hangers.

Are you still running SII rear leaves, or something else?

It's getting close to time to retire my current frame.. just re-re-rewelded both front body mounts after putting the jack under 'em to pull 'em back out of the frame and get things somewhat lined up again.. I think that section of frame has had about as much abuse as it wants to take.

Next frame, if it still has a tub on it, I'll have to cut the front cab mounts off, plate the frame, and weld 'em back on. :D
