EDITED: $3400 now with an SM465; check post number 3
I'm building a race car now and I don't have time or money to finish this. I need something more practical to DD than my current car, so I may be interested in a trade for a Chevy/GMC extended cab truck with high-miles in need of a little bit of work (ideally needing a new engine). I can't post pics here, but click this link for some pictures- http://www.southernjeeps.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=87281#87281 Here are the specs:
1978 CJ7
-Axles:
Front Dodge dana 60, open knuckle, king pin.
Narrowed to 62" wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface.
4:10 Gears, welded carrier
35 Spline inner shafts. Short side is stock Dodge, Long side is cut down and re-splined Spicer shaft.
Very recent U-Joints
Ford outers, internal hubs, 30 spline outers.
Calipers, rotors, pads, in like new condition, but rotors have rust from sitting
Clearanced to fit 15" wheels with 3.5" back spacing.
Rear 14-Bolt
Detroit Locker
Cab and Chassis dually hubs
62" wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface
Disc brake conversion. Brake parts in like great condition
1410 pinion yoke
-39.5" boggers w/ 80%+, grooved, on 15x10 eaton beadlocks
-Body is OK, but there is a lot of rust in non-critical areas, and the front footwells are covered in fiberglass
-Modified rockers (tubed w/DOM), not finished (could possibly finish if wanted)
-Comp cut rear corner
-BEEFY and very nice custom from x-member, steering box mount, grille mount, and spring mounts
-shackle reversal w/ custom spring mounts all around
-BDS 3.5" YJ springs SOA
-J20 steering box w/ hydro assist
-Swagelok manual line lock for brakes with adapters
-Beginnings of an interior gas tank setup; not completely finished
-Sturdy custom battery mount
-Full set of sunpro gauges (Tach, oil pres, water temp)
-Stock speedo is good
-Soft top in not-so-good condition, needs buttons for tub, soft doors
-Includes mounting tabs for shocks, but mounts need to be built
-Also will include wilwood master cylinders for brake/clutch and mounting plates (not welded to firewall)
-Two round taillights
-Wheelbase is approx. 103.5" IIRC (setup suspension almost a year ago, so I'm not quite sure)
-Tailgate and grille support in good condition
NEEDS TO BE DONE:
New hood or hood scoop (hole in the middle of hood from PO for air cleaner), complete brake lines and fuel lines routed (steel tubing and furl hose will be included w/ bender and flare kit, just need fittings and rubber/SS hoses), install a new gasket on steering box (included), finishing MC mounts, shocks/mounts, roll cage, interior, lights, power steering lines, paint, no engine/tranny (I'm keeping them), battery, surface rust here and there, seat rails built, new windshield/frame (or the current frame could be patched), and some other random knick-knacks
Here is what I paid for everything:
$1000 for body/old parts
$2000+ for axles
$800 for wheels/tires
$300 for springs
$150 for misc brake tubing, MCs, etc.
$100+ for steel
$500 for steering box/hydro assist
$60 for line lock
$50 for top
$50 for misc. bushings
$50 for gauges
$15 for lights
-and more
= ~$5000+
So, assuming I take $0 for the body and tons of hours of fabrication, I'd like to get $3900 for it. If no one bites, I'll probably part it out. This could be a REALLY awesome Jeep with a bit of fabrication and a few new parts... it turns heads just sitting in the driveway! Email me at mark@bentonandparker.com if you are interested or if you want to see close-up pictures of anything, as I don't check the board much.
