The battery is charged, the cables, hooked up and tight. What could be causing this? The lights come on and the gauges and fuel pump also come on when you turn the key, but no starter action is heard. Thanks for a prompt responce.

What kind of vehicle? Year, model? The 98 Ram?

I'm guessing it is a ground or connection somewhere, something you disconnected then forgot to reconnect...

Yes, the 98 ram. I didn't have to disconect alot, what was concerning me. I just went a checked all the ground wires and there all still atached. Still won't crank.

When you installed the auto trans extension you might have shifted the trans out of park. It has a neutral safety switch that will only allow the starter to engage if the trans is in park or neutral. Worth a shot.

Good luck

Good advice.

Also make sure to bend the metal brake lines around the booster/master cylinder so it is farther away from the steering shaft. I have heard of too many guys rubbing through the metal brake lines after the body lift.

sounds to me like it is a NSS issue (neutral safety switch)

I agree. Adjust the shift linkage. Should solve the problem.
