: TTB dana 44 gears in a RC44 housing??

anyone know if a gearset from the TTB ford 44's(reverse cut i believe) would fit in a ford RC44?? would a standard cut 44 lunchbox locker fit in a RC 44?? thanks for the info ---b

if the front axles u-joints have inside clips holding them in it is a dana 44 and yes the guts will go into a straight axle. if it has outside clips on the front axle u-joints then it is a dana 50 and those wont work

nah, the 1/2 tons still had the D44 (3/4 tons TTB with leafs had the D50 I think) I don't know if the TTB 44's were reverse cut or not though... should be easy enough to tell, look at the pinion, above the center of the axle RC, if not standard rotation. Carriers should be the same for any year aasuming the are the same spline count. I know that rear 44 standard carrier cut will work in a reverse cut 44
