That's not a rollover. It was more of a flop and slide. :smokin:

Looks like everyone came out ok. Thanks for sharing.

you gotta be :smokin: to be out there with out a cage!

I didn't know those old Willy's came with an eject button. But I guess it's your only chance to survive a roll with no cage. Just hope you get ejected far enough a way. I seen a guy get ejected only to have the jeep roll over his :skull: RIP

Too all that are freaked out...

Remember WWII when the GI's drove these all over hell and back w/o cages? Korean War too, in fact clear up until the 80's when the HMMWV replaced jeeps as the military vehicle and it doesn't have jack for rollover protection either!

A buddy of mine here in PA has one of those Jeeps, i jumped in to ride shotgun with him one day and asked where the seat belts were (he does at least have a single rear roll bar)

he looked at me and said "just bail out if we roll"

I got back out of the jeep at that point :shaking:

I think I would have bailed just like those guys at the first sign of a roll. That guys was on his way out before the thing even got tippy. He must have seen the line that guys was taking and knew what was coming.

A friend of mine has one of those things and it is incredible were a stock willys will go. They are some of the best stock off-roading vehicles EVER. They are really hard to get them to roll too. We were driving one day and the drivers side hub locked up at about 50mph (WIDE SLAP OPEN throttle) we instantly went across 4 lanes, in a 6' ditch, up the muddy hill (only about 60* angle), he got it turned back to nose down the hill and back across the ditch to the wrong side of the roads E-lane. We both were like    !!!

People stopped to see if we were okay and one guy stated that the same thing happened to him in the Koren war on a dirt road running from a mortar attack. He said he swears by the willy's.

We had it back on the road in about 40 minutes, pulled the corner apart greased up the bearings that were in it (black and crispy from being locked up) and were on our way. We changed them later that day.

I couldn't believe we didn't roll. We had the "seat belts" on though.

those things are so small if they roll over just push up on the ground above you and it will keep the jeep from crushing you :flipoff2:

without belts and some overhead protection, you might as well go into the garage and pound yourself with a mallet on the head a couple of times
