It's time to embark on another build. Starting with an 71 800 304 and pretty much unmolested. I'm looking for dana 60 frt & rr 4.88's, detroit frt and spool rr, SOA, RAM steering, Cage, H1 beadlocks (6 or 12 bolt) winch frt bumper, carrier rr and sliders. It will be functional! It's finding the right shop for the job. Who's up to it? Work needs to start within 2 weeks. Any takers?

Bring it on up if you wish. My workload is pretty busy but this sounds like a big and fun project.

I guess I need to read my own sig. :p

Give me a call at 916-652-4706 and we can talk about how. If I'm not your man then maybe I can help you find someone(reference).

I've decided D44's are the ticket to keep the weight down and still have some strength, but??? which are better, The chevy or scout II's? I'll have 4.56 gears and 35" meats. Ideas, ideas???

The Chevy axles have thicker axle tubes and stronger internal hubs, but you can swap Chevy outer junk onto a Scout axle.

Mine is for sale. Comes with a set of beadlocks, and set of mall crawlers, three 37 inch spares, 11 37's total. All the candy in my sig and you could drive it to NYC its that roadworthy. Better bring you CC cause it only get 11 or 12.5 mpg depending on which tires you run.

Whats the distance between tires on a stock scout II axle? Inside tire to inside tire?

I was kinda hoping you guys could give me a price. I see these wild prices on Ebay but I'm very realistic. I built it to wheel but drive everyday. It has great flex and curb appeal and like I said its dead on reliable. I've actually got about 500 bucks worth of stuff to do to it. I still need to regear the 60 to 4.88 or the 70 to 4.56. I have my front d-shaft already. I also need to install the tera low case. Its build and ready to go in but I'm still running the stock 20. Other than that the relays for the lights are done, the 140 amp alt is done, the 350 turbo 400 swap is done. Does 7000 sound out of line?

Does that include what you mentioned you still need to do? Gear box and 4.88 change etc?

DJForrestA

sounds like a fair price to me. too bad you have to sell it already :mad3: not trying to be nosey, but any particular reason why you're selling it after all the work you have into it?

Baby #4 and my dads cancer has reelly changed my priorities. My DJ business is super busy and I work full time at costco so it is very hard to juggle and I could really use the money more than the scout. I do think the price is fair probably more than fair after all the work but there are a few cosmetic do dads IE 4wd shift boot, seat covers, finish the inner tub, but other than that it is complete.
