CHASSIS NAME-------???
the chassis it made to be roomy, low, and still fit a big running gear. it will easily fit a small block chevy,465,205.
the chassis are not your standard assembly line chassis. if you need one smaller /bigger/etc we will build to your spec. and be priced accordingly.
here are some pics

any idea how much they will be after the first two , if you will make more than two? I love the look of this chassis but i dont have the money to buy one til i get a new job(after i get my drivers license back on the 27th.) im only 17 but i want to build up a buggy, i was planning on trying to do it all, but i realized that is out of my skill range, so im going to buy one and finish it off. Thanks

Ryan has another thread, a contest thread to name the chassis, it had more pics. I guess they deleted the thread since the contest was over with the name Malvado.
Since I wanted the chassis I copied some pics, 2 seater only pics.

ok an update.....
i will ge more pics manana.
the 4 seater is taking a little more time to figure things out, # 2 chassis was going to become a 4 seater for doug....but the engineering was a little wrong in th foundation of the chassis to make it a 4 seater. so its another 2 seater, dougs will be #3. i didnt relize the problems until this evening when we went to finish up the rear. the 4 seater design is figured out and will be done in a few days. the front half will be done manana. it will look the same from the b pillar forward, but the rear will be about 20 " longer and estimated wb is about 120".

A build thread will start in Gen4x4 soon.
This MG1 will run 42" IROKs with a wheelbase no shorter that 121", a little longer for rear steer. 53" wide and 163" long chassis, built to use a cruiser hood nicely.

That's a pretty cool looking chassis, good price too. Just one thing from building a couple and from a hot ass AZ guys' standpoint who might consider buying one. How would you cover that roof? We usually do a flat piece of aluminum, bent down to follow the lines of the "windsheild", but those angles would make that really hard. Canvas top would be tough too, not to mention it would be ripped to shreds the first time through Twisted. Just curious how someone would shade a bald head. The only way I could see would be seperate panels for each opening?

And also unreliable for hot-linking. I have space at CrawlTech and they've merged with PSC. They're revamping the website. You could see my pics are still loading but I just can't access to upload new pics.
Not a big deal, there hasn't been alot of progress yet.
Ryan has a few pics of mine in his Malvado page, WickedFabrication.com
As for the roof, a vinyl bikini top would be simple. Painted Poly or recessed skins would be easy also.

I have four or five random online photo albums I never use anymore because they are unreliable. CrawlTech is always reliable, atleast was. I'll be starting the write up next week hopefully when CrawlTech's new site is up.
A teaser for the MG1's specs;
Chevy 350 TBI
TH400VP (variable pitch converter, poor man's 6 speed)
Fully pimped Dana 300 (HDs and 4.1)
Dana 60 front
Dana 70 steering rear (open knuckle w/60 outters)
Full hydro (obviously)
18" SAW/ASs
One crucial component is slowing me down, the rear axle. If I can't nail down this axle I have an idea for another steering rear.
Here's an attached pic;
Engine and trans (2wd still) in for location purposes.
And have I said how much I love my chassis dolly?

Well, I've got several 14 bolts laying around but the maximum gearing was my main concern at 5.13's I have the one D-70 and just thought that seemed like the better axle overall for my build. Up front I'm going to put together a Ford HP D-60 passenger side instead of the regular drivers side pinion setup. I may contact Ryan to get some of those Deadenbear knuckles and inner c's for that portion of the build. I have also been watching your write up Doug but didn't realize you were utilizing the D-60 and 70 axles. What can we say Doug were "trend setters"! :)

whats a class 50 ltl shippment? My shippment is going to be 800lbs
Greatlakeoffroad
08-18-2005, 09:45 PM
Can't remeber what LTL stands for but basically it means not a full load or basically its just a partial load. Freight is catagorized by classes (there is a standardized book that describes the classes just don't remeber what it is called either) basically the higher the number the more likely it is to get damaged lower the number the less amount of insurance can be put on it for damage claims. Class 50 is low and cheap because it is usually steel welded parts or generic heavy steel goods. Just act like you know what your talking about tell them its 800 lbs how many skids size usually is not a factor and that it is class 50 LTL now your talking there lingo and good to go for getting a descent quote. Also tell them it is freight collect means you will pay for it when you get it delivered unless you have an account, bill of lading is a tag Ryan will put on the package when he ships it. That should about cover it. Thanks Shawn

OK, valuables/junk moved and or thrown out. Have not touched the chassis since I unloaded it on Monday. However I did get four adjustable chassis stands built tonight and will lift it into place and level it up tommorrow. So I should be able to start my build post this weekend. going to start by gusseting the bare chassis and maybe putting in a temporary sheet of diamond tread for the floor boards so I can start the mock up process.

ryan if you got a four seater at about 115 wb that can handle 18 travel xhox and 37 to 42 tires for that price i want one,for sure email me neil
71RCKCRZR RYAN
08-29-2005, 02:06 PM
ok i will post this here because its good info...
to be cumfy.....the four seater needs to be an estimated 125-130" wb. any shorter the rear passengers will be cramped. i can make a chassis to any spec but the main charactoristics sp? of the chassis will remain the same. from the two seater to the 4 seate from the b pillar up is all teh same. the fourseater gets lengthened on the sliders 24" and the rear horizontal hoop is also 24 longer.

Ok Ryan,
Shipping is taken care of. That outfit across the street from you wont do the northwest but Reddeway(which is a partner co. of theirs) does. Cant beat $117 a peice to washington. Dont bother with the PM we talked about.
Just let me know when they can be picked up so i can call the shipping co.

Butch, I must tell you this is a first class built chassis. If you have any questions or Ryan needs a reference don't hesitate to contact me as I am building one of the two seaters as we speak. On another note I will be sending your ring and the check out tommorrow. If you need any help getting your chassis shipped let me know Ryan also knows I have the hook up on that. Thanks again. Shawn
