The Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF) needs letters of support to back-up our most recent Grant Application for OHMVR monies (Green Sticker Trust).
The grant is being written primarily for Education on Sanitation & Hazardous Waste. It will go toward purchasing cardboard commodes, Pett toilets and supplies, WAG bag toiletries, and oil spill kits, as well as running another advertising campaign on the US-50 billboard.
We're also targeting funding for the volunteer Rubicon Trail Patrol (RTP), which is recognized and trained by the El Dorado Sheriff's Office (SO). RTF will engage these grant dollars to provide radios for communication between RTP and the Sheriff's Communication Center, with focus on information-distribution and educational contacts. RTP's goal is to work with trail users to raise awareness about responsible recreation, and help identify what they might be doing wrong and how best to correct it. RTP is not there to ticket, but rather to educate.
Please send letters of support to Dennis at treasurer@rubicontrail.org so they can be attached to the Grant.
Time is short -- we will drive down and hand-deliver the grant application on Friday June 10th, so we need your letters by Thursday (tomorrow!) evening!
