I am looking at getting a scanner for my truck. I am a little bit of a radio junky and prefer to listen to it than CD's or music. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on which scanner to get. I am wanting something I can hard mount into the truck but have the ability to program with a PC. In a perfect world I would like one that I can also pick up short wave on so I can get the BBC. I would also like one that can be easily modified. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try exportradios.com as they "modify" radios a bit.

The best for the $$$ is the Uniden Sportcat 150 Hand held around 175.00. If you wanna program it......CHA-CHING.... :D

If you want a serious, but not high priced scanner you can't beat a Uniden BC780XLT. Huge display, PC interface, trunking, etc etc.
