Can anyone tell me what the max tire size is that I can run on a stock 05 Tundra without them rubbing? I am using the stock 16" rims.
Thanks.

265/75/16's. 285/75/16's with some coil spacers.
That said, you should probably find a good Tundra forum. Not many people here that are wheelin' brand new Tundras.

265-75-16 without any mods. Anything taller/wider, you'll need to lift and different BS(less backspacing) wheels.
BTW-www.tundrasolutions.com has info ranging from street tundras to off-road tundras.

Nice flags. You should get some for the back of your truck.
I thought that it was a valid ? the new tundras look pretty weak from the factory. For that matter all of the new toyotas do.

Seems like a troll question and response to me. Ask a ridiculous question on and extreme site to bait people then come back and focus on the heckler not the real answers.

oh...you are right joker. Thanks for the input on the 75 series tires. Maybe I should have asked the question under tow rigs. Seems like I have seen people ask tire size questions on other boards. I usually only look at the cruiser section though. As for the heckler.....that is why I hate message boards. Lots of punks usually.

First you need to ask yourself WHY you need the MAX size. What are the tires going to do for you? Are you trying to get your diff higher or are you trying to make your truck look tough? Are you willing to sacrifice poorer engine performance? A lot can be said for stock - especially with a new, hi-tech truck.

Good point. I think the TRD equipped truck come with the 265/75's so I would suggest not exceeding that if you tow or need good fuel economy. if you are wheeling it then quit screwing around and lift it.
My guess is you just want the "look" so get the same size that the TRD package comes with. I can tell u that as easily as my new '05 DC Limited downshifts at high altitude, I will be leaving it alone. It does much better at sea level, especially above 80 mph and I still get 16 mpg with a small load (1000 lbs.) not towing. I now have 2k miles on it and am very impressed. a very refined truck. My advice, leave it alone.
Okay, one other option might be 255/85's - basically the same diameter as the 285/75's, but narrower. Tall & skinny usually fits better than tall and fat. Won't guarantee they'll fit since I'm no Tundra expert, but it's something to investigate.
