yes, but only the 8 valve head. And the tiiming belt pullies are different.

You need to search more/differently:

Lemme know if you find info. I am considering that too. I have both a 1300 head and a 1600 8v head lying around. Just eye-balling them it looks like they are the same in combustion chamber size, but looks can be deceiving. I thought I might cc them out this weekend. Measure them. Get answers. Find out stuff.

Yes it will work the only main differance is the exaust valves are larger.
I run this set up on mine it's boared 40 over and the head and block are both decked It's a real torky combo ......Also remember the 1.6 head does not have a place for the fuel pump start looking for a electric pump.......

I've been swapping blocks and heads a while now. been driving a sammy since 1990. they're interchangeable. even the 16valve, except that you'd need the intake and exhaust manifolds with it. keep your original distributor if you're keeping the stock ignition system. my sammy is on v10 blazer axles and 40 inches of irok with about 36 inches travel for each wheel.

I just measured with my nuclear-powered calipers... The intake is larger also.
