Hi, I'm trying to change the power steering pump on my 345, I got the bracket and the pump off the engine, but cannot remove the pump from the bracket because of this stupid spacer that is ruining everything. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and have a solution for me?

man you guys are getting harsh :D
not that thats a bad thing..
I DO know of the spacer he speaks of though, and yes its a magor PITA. Get a small screwdriver and pry/hammer/drive it out. No real other way. Some pen. oil will help.
I solved it by machining a nut/spacer/washer combo that IH should have done in the first place... one piece.

Hell, I just grab it with a pair of vise-grips or channel-locks and pull it out. I remember the pump bracket on my onld '69 Chevy with an I6 was the same way.
