i dunno much about electric fuel pumps but by looking at this one can you tell if it's internal or external ??

yes, it's a chevy pump. from a G20 van with a TBI 350 ... every indication was that it was an external pump ... hmmm :confused:

what makes you say it's an internal over an external ?

the exposed hook ups for the wiring. and these pumps will over heat if you run them external.

Yep I agree, internal and it is because of the exposed hook ups. Not sure if it would over heat out side of the tank because the pump uses the fuel running through it for lubrication and cooling. Guess it could overheat though.
