Well let me start off by saying that I am 6'2'' and even with the seat all the way back with nothing behind it I still need more room in that truck :D
Now on to your question... Yes you can get a box that will fit behind the seat and still have it all the way back... It would have to be one that is wide at the bottom and angles up at the top to match the contour of your seat... I have had 2 different ones... One had 12inch subs with tweeters built in and one had 8inch subs with the tweeters built in.. They fit behind the seat so tight that the face of the speaker was touching the fabric on the back of the seat..It didn't muffle it much but i did notice it was louder if you tilted the seat forward...

i am also 6'2, and i have a box with 2 10's, amp, and fire extinguisher, with plenty of room left, you should have no issues at all. Good luck.

So did you use custom made boxes? Build your own box or just bought a premade? If so where did you get it?? Thanks!!!

I had a similar truck and I had a custom box made by a very well know audio shop here in SLC make it to fit nice and tight. It housed a couple of twelves and it fawkin hit. There is enough room if it is a well built enclosure and will sound killer with the right subs.

The box is a universal box meant to go behind the seat of a reg cab truck. It sounds awsome, should have gone with 12's. I had it done in concord california.

You can get these type of pickup boxes around here pre-made... They come with speakers installed or you can install your own..The 12inch boxes with some average speakers installed can be had for about $60.00... The 8inch can be had with speakers for about $20.00...Pep-boys and other parts stores have some also they seem to be at most flea-markets... Or I'm sure your local audio store could help you out..
I do know that Cicuit City has some nice single 6x9 boxes that fit behind the seat nice for $30.00 because I just bought some :D

Well I gues I will take some measurements and look at some local shops and online, check out E-Bay, etc. If I cant find a cheap box that can fit behind the seat without having to slide if forward, I think I will just put some 6x9's in boxes back there and a pair in the doors. Use a 4 channel amp and be done with it. This will just be a weekend toy so I dont need a whole lot. Just some quality tunes. I just kinda wanted to see if I could put some of this stuff in my garage to use. Thanks for all the info and ideas !!!!
