Pietro 06-11-2005, 09:44 PM i will save you the embarissment of asking that on the toyota section
ALL 85 and below pickups and 84-85 runners have solid front axles
the 84/85 year axle is most popular because it is fully gusseted top and bottom
if you cant find one, call allpro or marlins, they probably have pallets of them stacked behind their shops

Now that's a noob quote. Have you been to Marlins or All Pros websites. If they had pallets of them, don't you think they might advertize them! :flipoff2:
Pietro 06-11-2005, 10:35 PM those guys are probably hording all of the axles to themselves...
thats what i would do, toyota should have just made those housings out of gold :D
youngladdy 06-11-2005, 11:53 PM alright thanks for those who helped.

Where in Western Canada are you located? If you are around Edmonton or Calgary I can likely hook you up. Hell I have 3.5 front axles in the shop right now.
youngladdy 06-13-2005, 08:52 PM Ended up picking up a d44 instead...my friend is low on cash, and the d44 was actually cheaper than a toy front...
anyways, thanks for the offer.
I will keep in touch if we ever need one... :smokin:
jwhoss76 06-14-2005, 01:26 AM 85 was the last year in the US. Outside of the US I have heard 87 or 89 was the last year for a Toyota solid front. But then again, outside of the US diesel Yotas were available. I've yet to find a legallyl imported diesel yota.
Pietro 06-14-2005, 10:40 AM go to your local yota dealership and say "i need the front axle for an 85' pickup truck" :flipoff2:

Almost, 79-85 Toy 4wd trucks & 4Runners had solid axles. The 84-85 are most popular because it had a longer gusset on the bottom, no gusset on top. Factory solid axle trucks were sold into the late 1990's (95-97ish) In other countrys. 85 was last year for US.

There's gotta be a story in there somewhere.....

I stand corrected. I didn't know they continued until mid 90s :grinpimp:

I'd have to agree. What's up with the 1/2 axle?
jasonmt 06-14-2005, 06:28 PM Housing is toasted but everything else is good for spare parts, or in my case parts for the full floater kit.
Mex-lego 06-25-2005, 04:12 AM I have just returned from Australia and the solid axle yota is still produced there.
