: what knuckle do i need???

i have a gm 10 bolt going in the front of a 94 yj, i have been told i need a passenger side flat top knuckle, but from what axle can i find this on???and where to get a steering arm???i know it will have to be drilled and tapped to bolt on the arm.

you need a flat top knuckle off of a pre 78 dana 44. Steering arms are available from many shops, search this board to find some of the places.

My buddy got pass side flat tops of a earlier J-truck 8 lug style they run flat top knuckles...They are all over the yards at least around here:beer: :

ok i found a few at the bone yard, they all had the #s c36519 is this the correct one????

Ever since they were made. If you look on the 10 bolt knuckle it will have DANA stamped on it.

ok on further inspection of this knuckle, it is the same as the original from the 10 bolt , but the tie rod goes in from the top ??my setup is for going in from the bottom...do all dana 44 flat top passenger knuckle tie rods go in from the top????need an answer soon so i can go back to the junk yard and try to exchange... or can it be changed at a machine shop?? help..

No they don't. I have three of them in my shop that have the tie rod entering from the bottom. One is a Chevy and the other two are Jeep.

You can get the chevy ones either way. It is a year thing, I have no idea when or why a switch.
