I am going to Hayward WI for a week in August and am debating wether or not to bring the 4x4. Anyone know of any trails or clubs in that area I could hook up with?

Well, I live in Butternut which is east of Hayward about 45mi and I would say that there are not real hard core trails near by, but there are a number of dirt roads in the Chequamegon National Forest and if you wanted to go to Ma and PA Rockers near Superior, he has a place filled with trails and sand hills. Look on the web for more inf. on Ma and Pa's. Hope this helps a bit. Jeff

Thanks.

What is the Ma and Pa URL?

Man that brings back good memories! I worked in Drummond for a summer, used to road trip to Hayward for the "night life" if you can call it that. I don't remember the place, but it was somewhere on a lake that we used to get drunk at. That and some kick ass barbeque/logger show place that was really cool to see. I don't think you're gonna find much for wheeling up there in August. I'd say hit the lakes, kayak a river, and do the touristy stuff. Upper Peninsula area of Wisconsin is one of the most beautiful places on earth IMO.
Jeff 92xj, you haven't ever been to a bar that was called Helen's in Drummond have you? Man we spent many a drunken night up there.

http://parocker.homestead.com/files/ should get you to Ma and Pa's. Pmurf1, I have not been to Helens in Drummond. I didn't think there was anything in Drummond! :) Really, I'm not much of a drinker, but I have been to Cruisers in Hayward for dancing and I visited Phipps exotic dance bar over there once. :D So how did you end up in AZ? and what were you doing in Drummond for that summer? You're right, the lakes, rivers, and woods are the main draws up here. I've lived in the northwoods of WI all my life other than a few years in the Chicagoland area and even though I love to get out...west and south mainly, this area really does have some beauty to it. I may be missing it, but what town is that place in. I have no idea when it comes to that area, so the web site telling me how to get there from solon springs or whatever don't help.

It is actually in the town of Drummond. Is that in WI or Michigan. Thanks? The map on the web site has some address up on top, but I can't make it out.

Thanks,

Tom

I went to SCSU with a bunch of goofy fawks from Hayward:D

Isn't that area turning super yuppie? Half the yuppies are from the Twin Cites and the other from Chi area?

Anyway N WI is very nice...better from quads, bikes, and sleds, for the most part, than wheelin....
