Eldorado National Forest
OHV Route Inventory Review
And Field Trip
On Saturday, June 25, 2005, the Forest Service will host an open house to
review the OHV Route Inventory and Route Designation Process at the
Georgetown Ranger Station, 7600 Wentworth Springs Road, Georgetown, CA
95634 from 10 AM to 12 PM. The purpose of the open house is to meet with
you, introduce the planning process, answer questions and view maps of the
entire Eldorado National Forest. You are invited to drop in at any time
during the open house.
There will be a presentation about the process starting at 10:15 AM.
Participants are encouraged to review the information on the website,
www.fs.fed.us/r5/eldorado/projects/route.
The open house format will be casual. Inventory maps will be available to
review during the open house. Forest Service staff will be available to
talk with regarding the maps and the process for adding additional routes
to the inventory. CDs of the maps will be available upon request.
At about 12:30 PM, a field trip will be conducted to show people an example
of a non-system route and a National Forest System OHV trail. Forest
Service staff will describe how the non-system and system routes will be
managed for motorized vehicles in the interim until route designation is
completed across the Forest. The staff will be available to answer
questions. We plan to carpool to the field trip locations. The field trip
is expected to return to the Georgetown Ranger Station by 3:00 PM. Please
bring sturdy footwear, water and a lunch if you plan on going on the field
trip. We would appreciate an RSVP to Jon Jue, (530) 333-5550 or
jjue@fs.fed.us if you plan on attending the field trip by June 23, 2005.
Anyone who wants to be on our e-mail list can send their name, mailing
