ive been trying to decide on a new tire for a while now...
this tire is a little wider than i want, but im runnig out of other options...
seems this is pretty much the only streetable big swamper.
my xj is still a semi daily driver, so ive been aiming for something with SOME manners.
i really want a 38x14.5x15sx, but the general concensus seems to be they are very difficult to balance, and flat spot.
if anyone has different expereinces with SXs, and any success with balancing, be sure to tell me what you did.

anyways...back to the original question...
anyone with 38x15x15 tsl radials...
what do they actually measure, and please share performance notes offroad/onroad.
and any pics of the tires in action would be appreciated.
thanks

i have not ran these personally but i had a friend that ran them on his 7 and they are unreal....that jeep went places that was unreal and i have seen some great vehicles
he was in the very first arca competition in las cruses and it climbed a wall that no one else there was able to get up unassisted.
and from what i remember they dont look bigger than the 38 14.50
i know he swore by them and u can find good prices on this board for them used.

Happy as hell with mine. Trail-see above. Excellent tire but I wont rant cause there's about a bazillion posts on how well they work.

street- squishy a bit, not too noisey and fairly predictable. IMHO you cant beat SX's for peak off highway, yet drivable.

i cant speak for the 38's but my 36's tend to flat spot when they have set for a couple of days. i hear that the 38's do to but i don’t have any personal experience.

thanks alot so far fellas...

does anyone have a measurement mounted on a 15x10in rim?

for whoever was talking about flatspotting, did you mean the tsl radials, or the SXs?

id like to go SXs, if i could get a sureshot way to make em behave on the street, but that appears that would be having my cake and eating it too.

for those running the tsl-Radials how would you rate their wear?
and whats the highest safe speed for them?
also...im considing grooving them...for those of you who have grooved tires before, did this created a tread chunking problem or funk up the tire in any manner? just curious on that.

sorry for all the questions...choices choices

The flat spots work themselves out in a couple of miles.
As far as balancing ?? some tires are better than others.
I had boggerz three balanced with a few oz and one that took like 14 oz
