If I had to buy a rig today, I would RUN to a forum like this or the LCML and sign up. A few hours with the SEARCH button and I would be most prepared to buy a nice Cruser. Back when I bought my FJ40 seven years ago, about the only info I could find on the Internet was the ORML, Version 1.0 of Rob Mullens FAQ, and Josh Boltrek's LC timeline. This was all great info, but certainly not as complete as one can find nowadays. Especially regarding SOAs and tranny/engine swaps. Info is priceless, IMHO. So I don't see kids without trucks as wannabes. Well, some of them are, but you soon notice who they are, and then ignore their posts. Just my .02 cents.:)

It is funny, I got my first cruiser when I was 15. Still have it today. It was the only truck I wanted since before I could remember.. I never wanted to buy a jeep. There were just too many of them out there...

I was talking to someone and I asked if they knew where any classifides were... they mentioned pirate4x4.com and said it was under the BB's... I needed to reg to make replies on the For Sale section, and once I had a name, I posted elsewhere...

I figure I'll use this board loads when I finally get a cruiser. getting a cruiser should not be a req'mnt for joining... because this board has helped me talk to loads more people than i ever would and i am sure will eventually help me get a cruiser...

Just kidding. Here's my two uglies... The FJ has since had a fender chopping to better accommodate the 33s. The J**p is my wife's DD these days, and an occasional trail rig. It used to see more trails... :(

Just a little magic is needed. :rolleyes: Trick was to upload my photo to a web site, then just use the "IMG" button to load it.

Both of my kids are really in the photo... which they know that when I take a short cut... watch out! ;)

Nope, Geocities is blocking the photo! They have some odd rules. They will allow so many downloads per hour until they block it. I suspect if they get too many hits on the photo they expect it to be PORN, not a Land Cruiser!!! :D
