call Ford, and ask them the list price on them I believe it's around $585, I had to pay $272 for mine and I know the guys at napa real well, and that price was only $10 over the stores cost (I am sure it was more like $150 over corps cost but the stores cost was $260)

I sold one at work (CarQuest) about 5 months ago and it was around $250. The same guys came back and bought another one the same day.

I'm guessing our cost on those is at least $180, this is a BCA unit bearing.

Um..... actually, yes... you ARE going to pay $250 for a unit bearing at Autozone. :flipoff2:

It's either that, or drive it until the wheels fall off.

if you're too cheap to replace unit bearings then why the f*ck did you ever put big tires on a super duty?

I just picked up a pair at Advance for $269 ea. Pisses me off that I have to deal with this with only 70K on the truck (F350, DRW, 4x4). I don't have big tires, it is ALL stock, and doesn't even tow that much...

There isn't a recall I don't know anything about is there?

no recalls I know about and while you have them off check your balljoints too, when I replaced my right side bearing at 80k miles the lower balljoint was trashed to, and mine also is stock, and doesn't tow all that much.
One other thing I found on mine was I replaced the bearing but waited a little while before I got to the ball joints, and when I pulled it back apart to do that there was grease bieng pulled out of the back of hte new bearing from the automatic feature of the hubs (applies vacumn to the backside to appply the hubs) I put warn manual hubs on it, and disconnected the vac lines, and plugged the hole, I rechecked it about 3 months later, and no more grease bieng sucked out of the seal, so Ihave come to the conclussion that the early demise of these bearings is bieng caused by that vacumn suckkig the grease out of the bearings, and running them dry time will only tell but anything a person can do the keep that grease in can only help.

70k on unit bearings is about average life for them, $250 is a decent price. Yeah I know it is a lot but that is what they cost. You can go to Dynatrac, they sell a SD bearing conversion kit that converts the front hubs to regular Timken tapered roller bearings. The stinkin kit is around $1100 though.

Why the Warns? Couldn't you just unhook the vacumn lines and use the stock manual hub lock?

I am dealing with this exact same thing on mine.

But I have ford factory manual hubs..

F'n seals on the back suck to install.
