Just purchased my first tow rig. A 99 F250 CC 7.3L auto, I have purchased the Edge, but I am wondering where are the best prices for the exhaust, intake, and transmission. I have been reading and have heard that the auto really isnt up to task for serious hauling do to a weak torque converter. But I have also read that this can be upgraded.
So just wondering where you guys shop or go for informative tech on the net.
Thanks

KS Toy also pointed out a good resource.
www.superdutydiesel.com
www.thedieselgarage.com
are a couple other resources, The biggest thing you need to make sure you monitor is the transmission temps this will help prolong the life of your tranny. You may need to get an additional trans cooler to keep the trans cooler while you are towing especially if you are towing around town.
When you see people refering to towing heavy realize that unless you're towing multiple rigs you aren't really heavy. Given the 4R100 trans isn't the strongest but given proper cooling it will serve you acceptably so I wouldn't go out and replace your t/c tomorrow if you monitor trans temps you'll notice the temps climbing given the same driving when the t/c is beginning to fail.
Exhaust and price you'll find the cheapest prices off ebay I've heard quite a few people say good things about the ebay exhausts and how they fit. I haven't heard too many people commenting on the longevity of the exhausts though. If you check the vendors sections at any of the diesel sites you'll find quite a few resources for exhaust and most have prices listed on their websites.

If your towing or heavy on the go peadle, you want to keep an eye on your egt's, especially with any chip/tuner. So I would highly recommend some guages first off.
for performance parts(I keep tons on stock), give me a call - 919-754-7910. I can work with you on some performance mods. I normally like to talk to the person first about their driving/towing habits before recommending any performance upgrades.
The 4R100 is not that bad. When adding high hp packages, I usually recommend at least a Sonnax kit, it compliments performance mods nicely and helps extend your trans life by providing quicker/firmer shifts and reduces slippage.

There are so many options out there for exhaust, Tranny upgrades, and Intakes.. As mentioned above.. to each it there own when it comes to purchasing these products... Check out www.thedieselgarage.com to answer some more of your questions..
As Studnuts said gauges are important for watching tranny temps and EGT's(Exhaust Gas Temp.) Keeping the Temp. down on the Tranny will increase the life of it.. and watching the EGT's will extend the life of the Turbo.
As Far as Transmission upgrades a new Torque Converter and a shift kit will do wonders for and old transmission..
