I was thinking one of the two drawings we do would be like this - we start a post and everyone who posts up on that post gets included - this gives guys who have been building and need a shaft close to that time a better chance to win- but it is a little more work to get the posters names off that post- lance is this too much work? or are we cool? I'm all for that. I've got some insane movement in the rear suspension now and I can't shorten the wheel base until I can afford a new drive shaft that can handle it after shortening. I've been waiting patiently to win one but, so far I'm SOL. :rasta:

Another good point, it weeds out those who aren't active enough to even know they've won for a week or until someone calls them! Or those who don't even need one...

however you want to do it, buddy, is fine with me! you're the boss! :D

I tend to agree with BadDog about weeding out those who signed up and never come back. It wouldn't be too fair to those who are off on vacation, at a run or competition, or on a business trip without a computer tho.

On the 1st of the month, the drawing is general pool.. So those without computer, doen't get on often, etc. Still get a chance, teh same chance they had originally

One the 15th of the month, make it the "enter by replying to this thread drawing" to weed the masses out?

It proabably won't fly but maybe those who don't "need" a high angle shaft might volunteer to have their #'s removed until they do need one.

I like the idea, since to even be in the drawing you have be around to register.

For the mechanics of it, If the thread got locked before the drawing, then I think its not possible to change the order.

Then do a random drawing with the max number as the total number of replies. if #1 comes up, do a re-roll.

one post per registered user and if you post twice you get disqualified.

You would need to lock the register thread before the roll so no tampering with the sequence was possible.

i'm all for it as long as it is always in the same spot and "sticky" kinda suck to search the board for hours to find it. kinda makes the drawning nicer for the regulars :D

I like this idea! As much as i would love to win, if I won right now it wouldnt do me any good becuase it will be awhile before I get my transfer case and front axle mounted up.

I'm all for it. Sticky at the top a day before the drawing, if you want to enter, reply and find out the next day.

Now this idea may seem a bit greedy, but hear me out. Jess gives out a LOT of money worth of driveshafts to this board, which is extremely generous. (although it does net him a sh*tload of business) What if we were to have the drawing support the PBB a little more? As in, if you want to enter to win, you click on the link above and donate a buck to the PBB. Hell, thats only $2 a month if you entered each drawing, and if you don't want to enter, you don't pay jack. Or maybe if the $$$ from that drawing were used as a donation to Blue Ribbon Coalition or another anti-econazi organization of the month? I would just feel a bit bad winning an expensive shaft and not giving anything back.

Great idea Jess, I love it!! The only prob is that i just bought driveshafts, so i guess if i win in the next few months, you can just give me my money back, huh???

I think it would be a good idea as long as the post was made ON the 15th everytime or any consistant date. This will be good for me because I don't need shafts right now but i will need both F&R this summer and getting one of those free would REALLY help out the ole budget :p

Sounds like we will do this on the 15th of every month to kinda keep things new- i like the idea of the tread and who ever responds (posts up ) is included in the drawing for that time- i think i will set a time when the drawing is ending to post up of 6 pm the day before pacific time - so on the 14th you will have til 6pm pacific time - hope this is agreable- Lance thanks for working with all of us on this- we appreciate the help and workability of ya man! One question...I don't need a new shaft right now, but will need 2 when I do my SAS this summer (or just after summer). Would it be courteous or moral or whatever to wait until a month or so before I start the swap to enter, or would it be ok to enter every time? Obviously, it would be too hard to keep someone from doing this, but it's more an opinion I'm looking for.

Make it a random day drawing for that thread or you will have EVERYONE online on the 15th.

I think a minimum postlimit would be good too. Over on sportbikes.net they have a minimum 100 post limit to be in the drawings. Of course all donators get in as well.
