Has anyone ever run the Rubicon "backwards" from east to west? Is it more difficult that way? It seems that all the references to running the trail start at Loon Lake. I want to try running it in both directions, any suggestions or advice.

Lots of poeple run it backwards. Coming up the big sluice and old sluice is fun and can be a good challenge. Is it more difficult that way? I think so. Just try to schedule your trek up big sluice at off peak times for people coming down, not alot of room to pass. Have fun :D

It can be done, but you have to be really good at driving using your mirrors. :D

When we run it backwards we call it a "Nocibur" run. (Rubicon backwards.) As stated above, try it come up the Big Sluice during off peak times.
IMHO, coming up the lower section of the Big Sluice is some good trail.
