: who has the best prices for gears and lockers??
rockbound 03-02-2002, 01:42 PM I am putting together my front 60 with a detroit and 4:88 gears. Where can I find the best prices for these. My local off road shop quoted me at $888.00, for the detroit, gears , and install kit. Seems a little high.
Thanks!!
inphobic 03-02-2002, 02:50 PM Check out randy's R&P. There are good deals out there if you know somebody. If not randy's might be a good place. Good Luck, Jake
Kurtastrophe 03-02-2002, 02:55 PM I agree, check prices at Randy's R&P. You may want to also check out prices at:
www.completeoffroad.com
They are based in Chicago, so shipping may be a little cheaper for you. Mike Kirkus, the owner, is great to deal with also.

Free shipping and a no question lifetime waranty on every think.
Slagburn 03-02-2002, 09:05 PM This is the last time I will harp on Randy's, now this was a few years ago... they were sending out offshore gears when "Dana" was explicitly ordered, return gears get the same junk back.. Finally I talked to their sales manager and he said yes, they were Dana, the guy that ran the stamper at the Dana factory was sick that week or some such BS. Can you believe that?:mad3:
Anyway that was a couple years ago, I've been hearing better things now but the consensus is the Yukon stuff is mostly junk.
They did have the cheapest price I could find on 35sp 70 stubs, thick ring 14B 4.88's in stock, and I got my front gears off Ebay so I know they're Dana this time!
They don't have the forged Spicer 1480's in yet though.
rockbound 03-03-2002, 09:11 AM thanks guys, I will check into those!!
Curtis 03-03-2002, 11:10 AM Check West Coast Differentials 1-800-642-0950. I ordered stuff from them on Wednesday at 4pm and received it all Thursday afternoon. Their prices were the best I found anywhere.

Yep I just looked into them I am going to go with them for 2 reason's, first they use spicer gear sets, and the prices are very low! I am going to go with a spool not the detroit, it cuts the cost a good bit, and funds are low right now!

rockbound 03-04-2002, 07:30 AM yeah that seems to be the consensus, to many damn decisions!
1TONTJ 03-04-2002, 07:55 AM You can also call Dave Rittenhouse from www.drivetraindirect.com at 888-584-4327 ex 117 and ask him for the "Phil Jensen Price" since you are a friend of mine ;) That is usually a very good price.
Something to compare to the other prices anyway.
HTH,
Phil

Oh yeah, forgot all about Gearman. Give him a call. The people I have talked to that have delt with him said he was great to deal with and gave them very reasonable prices.
