Anyone had any experience with Rubicon Express leveling kit for the Ford Superdutys? I've got an '04, and tow a lot. Looking for opinions on ride quality, etc. Pics would be great as well. Would love to run a set of 315's. I will be towing a 2 car hauling gooseneck, pulling a heavy XJ and cruiser. Already running some beef overloads in the rear though.

Bottom line, it still needs to ride great. It's my DD...

I'm going to be ordering that kit shortly, so I'll tell you how it turns out.

The 2003 we have at work has one. I often use it to tow our 28 ft enclosed featherlite. No problems at all. I will take some pics tommorow.

It is a drop kit. No ride quality change except for any shock changes.

Crap. I sent the truck to the dealer this morning. Let me see if I have any on this computer.

Edit: All I have are stock and with the original lift in the front. The kit is 2 hangers and 2 shackles. On our truck the original hangers had some extra bracketry for the front airdam below the bumper, but we had already removed that.

As soon as I get the truck back I'll put up some pics.

I just installed the RE 6.5" kit in my cousin's SD last weekend, it uses the same drop brackets in the front as their leveling kit. Very nicely made brackets, as always. One thing that will make your life easier is take the whole assembly off the truck, stock hangers, shackles and spring together. the front leaf bolt is directly by the AC condenser, read hard to put a wrench on, well unless you have an assortment of larger, 22mm and 24mm box-end wrenches, with about a 4' bar attached to the other end. And if you can get your hands on a 3/4" impact gun I would, Ford uses some great lock-tight on those front leaf bolts. But over all they bolt in easily, you do lose the corner reiforcement brackets for the front bumper, but could easily be fabbed up if you wanted them. And RE's powercoat is about a 1" thick so sometimes alignment can be an issue, but nothing a BFH wouldn't cure. I say go for it, it won't change your ride, but give you the extra height you are looking for.

got this kit on the front of my 04, along with AAL's and my 315's still ever so gently rub my inner fender's, but i do have 3 5/8 bs welds, so scrub radius sucks...

kit is very easy to install, rather tha move the condensor, i removed the bolt's holding the stock spring hanger's the frame, dropping them down so i didn't have to mess with the A/C

took me and teh g/f about 4 hours to do completly. though i did not use the u-bolt flip kit, stabilizer relocator, or new u-bolt plates, since there was no need to remove the u-bolts.

I am a jerk. Everytime the truck was home I forgot. When it was in the shop I remembered. Last week it got a new shortblock and I remembered this thread. Here are some pics. (running the re spring also)

(the truck has 30k on it and the re kit has 29k on it for ref.)

:D Don't worry about it! I was suprised to see this thread pop back up! Thanks for the pics! I got the kit, and love it too. I've put about 25k miles on it, with no problems. I would highly suggest the kit. I'll see if I can dig up some pics too for future reference.
