Looks like it will be around 1600+ shipping if you already have your own power unit. And for a 2 1/2" die a whooping $595 wtf..lol..yeah running the numbers and never even used a 2" die in my hd maybe I will just stick with my hd and use a harbor frieght bender if I need something like 2 1/2" bent.. :D

I'm glad someone finally asked about this... I've been wanting to make a post asking questions and getting input on all of these upper-entry level benders. It looks like it is supposed to compete with the JD2 Model 4... but I don't really see if it has any advantages over the Model 4. Personally I think the Huge/Clear 20" integral degree ring on the JD2 Model 4 puts it in a class of its own, although the Hydraulic ram mounts on the PT look nicer (specifically comparing to the single shear mount on the Ratcheting disk on the Model 4.) I'm kinda curious as to which one is easier to use though between the ratcheting action on the Model 4 vs. having to re-pin the die more on the Pro-tools. Also, on another note... what ever happened to the PT model 400? It was on the site for a few weeks talking about how incredible it is... then it disappeared and the Super bender showed up. I wonder what made them decide to go with the Super Bender over the Model 400.

I never even seen the modle 400.That looks sick as hell.Did you see the degree ring that is built in on the lower area of the super bender?

I wonder about the repinning also.On my HD I only haft to repin once to get past 90 degrees.I can actually get 180 on ethier 2 pin's or it might have been a third repin and then barely bend a little more.I have not done a 180 in so long I can not remmber.I hate stingers I geuss that is why..

Yeah... but it is nowhere near as big as the degree ring on the Model 4... I'm not sure if other people feel the same way.. but to me the hokey little degree rings most of the benders have are almost useless (especially the ones with the seperate pointers that aren't all that stable). The model 4 has a 20" Diameter degree ring. Each increment is nearly 3/16" apart. You don't have to deal with those crappy adjustable pointers since the lower drive link doubles as the pointer... so you don't have to deal with the inconsistencies that occur when re-pinning the die etc. The downside is that you can't set the pointer to compensate for lead in.. but IMHO the issue is moot becuase when using bend-tech you just calibrate the Lead in and then you just have to read off of the very clear degree ring on the Model 4. Makes it a lot more user friendly.

Well, I finally got around to making the post I was referring to. See: Upper Entry Level Bender Comparison (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=367779)
