I love that three tone paintjob you got goin on!

No wheeling for me, very little on the Scout, just bolted down the fuel cell, put the big tires on, and went for a drive.

I took my junk out wheelin', too..

Reminded myself that in a battle of soft-top vs. tree, the tree often wins..

http://tigger.tmcom.com/~tsm1/PlainGallery/2005TiggerFathersDay/dcp_0007.sized.jpg

So now I have a sun-roof in the soft-top, and a few more dents down the passenger side, and bent the door-frame portion of the soft-top, too.

Driver's window refuses to go up or down now, too.

Had a few water crossings..

http://www.m4x4a.org/ImageGallery/2005FrontierFathersDayLeadville/img_2945.sized.jpg

Lots of dead-fall..

http://www.m4x4a.org/ImageGallery/2005FrontierFathersDayLeadville/img_2981.sized.jpg

Takes too much time to CUT the trees.. so let's go over..

http://www.m4x4a.org/ImageGallery/2005FrontierFathersDayLeadville/img_3007.sized.jpg

Put a dent in the hood a little later when there was a tree that was a bit taller than the grille guard and I pushed on it..

Plenty of snow to play in, too..

Poor old Scout.. starting to look the worse for wear.

Oh.. finally dented my last straight body panel. Managed to put a dent in the windshield frame this weekend.

That was the last of the pristine metal. Hood, fenders, quarters, tailgate, end-caps, inner quarters, doors, windshield, firewall, inner fenders, core support.. all show signs of abuse.

Heck, even the soft-top frame is bent now..

Spent a little time in the shop on Sunday.

Start of new rear shock mounts that are going through the bed.

Put the clear on the quarter Thursday night.

And Sunday started the stripes..

Finally got around to re-doing the bumper-to-frame mounts on my new rear bumper/tire carrier. I was not happy with the first try.

Prepped it for paint and then weighed it. I shed 50#s overall compared to the old set-up I made and this carrier is rock solid...no wiggles, squeaks, etc. Holds that 37/gas can/hi-lift combo with ease. :)

Carried all my camping gear around the Scout and out of the garage to load up in the CTD. Took a new girly that I started dating awhile ago down to the Current River for a tubing/canoeing trip. We had a blast!!!! With a 1/2 bedload of green firewood plus the remainder of the bed and the back of the QC filled with camping gear (of course I was minus the firewood on the return trip), the CTD averaged 20mpg running 80mph for much of the way. It was a 530.5 mile round trip and it took 26.5 gallons to fill 'er back up when I got home.

Don't think I even touched a Scout this weekend (well, I did, but didn't actually do anything to them).

Sat/Sun was spent doing family things. Graduation party for a cusien (inlaw, inlaw or however that works out) on Satuday then dinner at Aunt/Uncle (in laws). Sunday had the "dad's" and imediat family for Breakfast, then "the boys" (5 of us) when and played a good 9-holes of bad golf.. then ribs at the inlaws (mmmmm).

However, Friday did net me getting the hut-tub set in place on its new perch IN the deck... still got to frame around it and build stairs, then get my brother-in-law over to replume the tub... could good week/weekends to work on it and it will be time for a deck warming ..... going to be sweet when done (expecialy compared to the old deck).

Then a bunch of IH events.... and maybe this winter build a new truck :D.... or a shop, which ever comes first :flipoff2:

I pussed out on our club run. Worked around the house.

Sunday I drank beer at Gen. Nonsense's house and watched my dog behave like a crack addict in his swimming pool.

Funny stuff dood!

I primered the Scout on Saturday...wrapped everything up by 1:30-2:00 in the afternoon and sat in the pool.

See above post for Sundays action :p

I think I have a scout or two, but havent been able to play with them for months.

This weekend was devoted to helping at our new church building. A couple of guys built a few new walls and hung sheetrock. Now I remember whey I have a desk job. That is some hard work!

Sunday, after church, I spent the afternoon with my oldest son pulling the new motor out of his truck. About a month ago, he destroyed the old 460, so I got a remanufactured motor for it. Got that one in over memorial day. Less than 100 miles into the new motor, it froze up. I found out Sunday that it completely destroyed the #1 piston, cylinder wall, timing chain and gears, oil pump drive shaft, a hole in the #1 cylinder wall, etc.

I ahve another replacement block sitting here, so next weekend will be spent again getting this thing running....

Sunday was a good day, though because I got to spelnd it with my son!

Drove to Lancaster and back(800 miles round trip) to pick up my first run of all terrain welding carts. I'm stoked as I've been working on this for close to five years now and I'm finally seeing results. Looks like my new night job is going to be putting carts together this week.
