just wondering...

there was quite a hype a couple of months ago, so we should be able to have some in depth experience now...

how many are out there and how many did break? :smokin:

Well I was out last weekend, trying to break the gears! All I managed to do was to shear the hub bolts. Oh well, I'll just have to try harder next time. :flipoff2:

(((how many are out there and how many did break)))

not one has any trouble to date.....out of 40 sets.

I would expect to hear of someone that installed them with used bearings, to do some damage soon enough......or some one that let all the oil get replaced with water, from that last river crossing....

not one investment has been lost to a set going bad.....

Well Dave, I just bought a set of the Spidertrax Grade 12 hub bolts, so maybe next time I go out to try to grenade :nuke: the SUMO's, I'll succeed instead of just shearing off the hubs. 'Course, I'll probably just blow a Birfield or a locker or something, but we'll see.

well Geoff, build the rest of your Zuk (Buster) as tough as those SUMO gears.....and do an 8 grand hole shot..and you will wish you had a centered diff, when you do a wheelie and go left!....LOL

Well Dave, I have a line on some ARB'd Toyota axles for cheap, so if I get them then I'll have one less reason to be concerned about doing 9000rpm hole shots. :)

I'll be getting them on ASAP, but most definitely before SOTR. But see, that's the point of getting those 'Yota axles....so that I don't break anymore "shiznit." Although I must say, I'm pretty impressed that I haven't broken any axles since installing these SUMO gears. Dave apparently breaks his axles every time he hits the trail, which is why he's doing the D44 thang. I'm doing the 'Yota thang just because, well, this is a good deal on these axles, if I can get 'em. I'll keep you updated though. Knowing my luck, something'll happen and I won't get these axles, but we'll see where fate takes me.
