It's been about 17 years since owning a dirt bike.. (yeah, I'm old)
but I've wanted another for that entire time. So, now I've got some dough saved up, and been looking a bit. Sunnyvale Honda
has a few 2001's around. I'm told the only diff between 2002,
and these 2001's are the tank decal, and the seat has a black
stripe. (No biggie there for sure)

They have them for 4699....... that puts me into it OTD for prob
around $5300........

whadya think?? go for it?? wait?? try to bargain them down
some more??

The motorcycle business must be having a real hard time in
the silicon valley since all the tech jobs are laying people off.

***Glad I'm not in the pool-building business!

That sounds like a good price,I was just at the honda dealer in Roseville and the new one was about $5,400.

I haven't ridden a 650 but I had a '96 xr600.Just make sure you can live with the weight of the beast.

These are not electric start bikes, correct?

What do you plan to use it for and how tall and heavy are you?

Not the best tight trail bike. Good for desert and dual sport duties.

If you are medium sized you need to check out the Suzi DRZ before plunking down your $$$ - e-start, light(er), more of a 'woods' bike.

I have been riding a XR600 in the woods of the south east for about 3 years and i love it. it is heavy but than again so am i (6'6" 220). if i were going to buy a new bike i would get a YZ426F or a the new honda 4 stroke MX bike. but than again i am still young enough and crazy enough to ride one of those beasts. I dont think you would ever be unhappy with a new XR650R so i say go for it.
