I cant seem to get a exact answer, but your help so far has been great. cept for a few around here :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I have a scout 44 with the knuckles twisted for 6 deg of caster and I have the Chevy histeer knuckles on them.

Now What exactly do I need as far as spindels, brake parts and axles to fit on these chevy outers and give me a 5.5 BC?

Can I just keep the scout outer axles or do they change when you go to the internal hub design?

please help if you can.

just did the same thing to my wagoneer axle.

I'm pretty sure you can use your outer axle shafts, but you'll need internally bolted hubs instead of the external like the scout has.

You'll need 74-76 Jeep or Chevy spindles. Ford hubs off just about any year up to 91 I think. I got mine off a 82 Bronco.

a 35 and a37 bearings from OReillys and that should do it.

what about the brakes? Should I just try and find them off of a ford?

for brakes Ibeleive you want the ford rotor and hub and chevy caliper and mount. I *think* you need different outer axles (the ones to go with the chevy spindle) because scouts have the same outer spline as a jeep dana 30.

Can I use a Wagoneer outer shaft? These seem to be tons easyier to find than the chevy crap. Although I think I can come up with the calipers and braket and buy the ford SHIAt new.

Keep your suggestions coming

wagoneer and chevy axles are damn near the same thing except one has a spring over diff housing while the other has a spring under diff. The outer is the same as the chevy.

Chevy & Waggy calipers & brackets should be interchangable.

According to the chart @ www.warn.com outer shaft lengths:
'74 - '83 Wag (disk brake) = 9.94" same as Chevy
'74 - '76 Wag (drum brake) = 9.92" same as '71 - '79 Ford

I have'nt figured out which to use yet.

I also got my hubs & rotors off an '82 Bronco. The spindles have a 6 bolt pattern & fit on the Chevy knuckle, so I plan on useing them. Any reason this won't work?

Here is my setup (http://www.chrisjeep7.alloffroad.com/photo2.html) it will tell you what you need.

For my RC 44 buildup I used:
Narrowed RC44 housing
Waggy outers (hub, spindle, bearings, rotor, stub)
Chevy Calipers.
I bought the calipers from Allied Auto. I had them pull Waggy calipers and Chevy ('77 4x4 truck) calipers so I could visually compare them. They're virtually identical, though the casting looked beefier on the Chevy. The Chevy were also some $30 cheaper.

I'm pretty sure this has been covered quite a few times... perhaps even in the Topic of the Week a few weeks ago.
