Ok, a friend of mine has a 52 M211 GMC 6x6 and is lookin to throw some 16x20 tires on it. (like the ones on usa6x6.com) it had 10-20's on it . Whattya think, it as a stock 302CI GMC 6 cyl, 6.17 gears, a 303hydromtaic (2spd auto w/ range box) and on big ass fuckin transfer case. Other than droppin the duals on the rear, what else will it need, more space between the rear axles?? fender trimming?? The truck is gunna mostly get used for loggin, towing, and occasional play. Whattya think? :usa:

He'll need to reverse the rear hubs to have the right track width for singles. Don't know how much power he'll have with the Hydramatic, it's a funky trans that people pull out and replace with 5spds. I'd put a big diesel in and a Roadranger 14909ALL 11 spd with 26:1 1st gear.

Daniel, I saw the pic of your yard fulla trucks n tires n such. Mmmmm YEE-AAAH!! It almost gets me to thinking I'd move out that way if you'd take boarders.:D I might even sleep in the barn loft til I can prove myself worthy of better! I wanna play with the BIG trucks too! You have any USA6x6 sticker stuff?!? Seeing as how I am gonna be getting those 37s from you all the time, I may as well fly your flag and let 'em all know where to git 'em right?!?
My dad knows a guy somewhere out my way that has an old M1 tank or something like that on rubber treads. The guy supposedly has a duece and a half as well. He has been thinking of getting rid of them. I had wondered what kind of trailer would hold the tank. I could tow it behind the duece for giggles and take it to a trail every now and then and watch the other guys eyes !! Maybe even take it by an ex-friends place and scare the crap out of him late at night... knock knock, Hello?, guess what? it ain't Domino's Pizza!:evil::laughing:

the M1 Abrams weighs like 42 tons right. the miliatry use a oshkosh 8x8 that is locked in all axles to pull them around. u sure the duce could handle that.

So more or less, if he wants to keep it 6x6 he is gunn have to lengethen the frame inbetween the axles, lengthen the links, and go to a different spring setup?? Mightas well swap in a 8.2 detroit from a bus, and maybe the alison 3spd ??? (w/o a range box wouldnt it be too high geared???) Seems like alot of pain in the ass to ditch the NDT's Whattya give him for trade towards a newer 5 ton?? ( the fucker is mint, only missing the cargo body, 53K miles, 3 new axle shafts, kickass brakes.......... maybe that would be the way to go?? also does anyone know anythin about using the axles that these trucks run??? (seem to have a strong 3rd member and shittty shafts)
Thanks :usa:

Yea, that is prob what is gunna happen. Since the spring setup uses a single leaf for both rears, just use front springs on both axles?? They are non located leafs (slide free on one end ) so he would still need the links, right ?? I'll talk to him and see what is goin on wid the project and if he has any fuckin $$$ beyond the cost of tires......
thanks

Hey Dan, love the M35 "pick-up". I look at a bunch of Dueces every day and always wondered what it would be like to bobb one. Just have to do something with that steering box; too much work with 9x20's, 16x20 would be HELL.:usa:
