Good luck with it though,

Kewl!!!!!!!!!

Now the "fun" begins. Looks like yer gonna need new rockers and I'll bet she'll need a new floor in front and maybe cab supports.

Then comes lift. Gotta have room for some serious tires. Dem little thangs ain't gonna cut it.

Hope ya got a good job and an understanding wife, if ya got one.

Realistic plans include some sort of flexy lift, new floors in the front and back, needs new master cyl./brake booster assem., steering is LOOSE, tranny leaks need a fixin'. Need lock-rite's in both axles. Hope to aquire a set of a friends used 31" BFG muds so I can at least wheel in in the mean time. She's gonna mostly be a trail rig, but not trailered.

Eventually, I hope to have a Ford HP60 in the front and a 14B in the rear. Coilovers and a 3-link for the front and a 3/4 eliptical for the rear. Plus some 38.5 SX's. Ohh, and some sort of gear reduction for the t-case. But everone dreams this big or bigger, so for now, it's just a pipe dream....

Job's a comin' (hopefully) this summer. In the mean time, tax return's a comin'! Girlfriend's not thrilled but I keep telling her to wait and see what I do with it.

BTW, I'm a moderator for my club's BBS, so I know how to search:D

Im in San Antonio, theres a guy there in Austin who goes by "Electric Bob". You should get in touch with him if you ever need any help or parts. He owns Austin Electric. Ive got a friend here who will put new parts & put you a diamond plate bed for REAL CHEAP. Interested let me know. For less than a grand Im sure he'll be able to cut out all the rust & replace if you supply the replacement parts.

Yea, I went and looked at Bob's shop, that guy is COOL:cool: and his shop is even cooler! Scout's lined up everywhere, must've been about 10 ot 15 of 'em in there! Anyways, I e-mailed him already about new floors and who can do the work. Theoretically, I can do the work, but I'd prefer to drop it off somewhere and have them go to town. I'll PM you if I can't find a guy in Austin to do it and I don't want to do it myself. Thanks!

So.. uhh.. where's the rust??

Fortunately, with my recent attack on the fenders.. I cut most of the exterior body rot off. :D

I did finally realize why it looks like I have less clearance on the passenger front tire.. duh, that's the side with the completely collapsed body mount. :(

Well, now it DOES count as rust..

And it's not that the door opens - mine open just fine.

The problem with claiming this as a rusty Scout is that, more important than opening, the door still *CLOSES*

Mine rattle all freakin' day long on the trail because they won't close any more. :D

When they do shut, you can't open them without throwing a shoulder into it, since it's really just pinched shut by the body. :D

The first time I drove it, the door got stuck when I was trying to open it from inside. My buddy had to get out from the passenger side Dukes of Hazzard style. The drivers side window doesn't go down all the way, so I couldn't look cool getting out. He had to come around and yank on the door for a bit before I shoved it open....In my mind, that's pretty rusty/craped out. But seriously, why am I bragging about my rust? Maybe it's a character building kind a thing. Anyway's hope to have most of the front floors out and redone next week...

Hell Tom, just take em off. Your rig will drop about 350lbs in weight, and you will look alot cooler;)

Seriously though, I took the doors off of mine the first time I took it to the rocks in Clayton, left them off until duck season was approaching and tried to put them back on.

No Go. After about 3 hours of trying to adjust them I admitted defeat, the closest position I could get them in still left a 2" droop at the rear corner of the door.

Oh well, they don't match the body anymore anyway,(they are dent free),

anybody need some clean doors, 12 pack of cheap beer and they're yours. They have the traveler windows, so you would need to swap them out.
